Accomplishment!
In the past week or two, I had a trial run of being a graphic designer. After having quite a bit of time and interest in creating logos for companies...and losing to the same 2 or 3 people 9 times, I think it's time I acknowledge that it's not my strength. So I took my tech savviness and my photoshopping & editing skills (thank you photography) and decided to try making my own blog background. After a couple of tries...SUCCESS!!! So what do you think of my background?? Who knows, maybe I'll be posting my designs for the world--or at least anyone who would want them. any takers??!?

To-Do List
Since I have not returned to a 'full time' job, other than subbing, I seem to have a large amount of time on my hands which leads to a lot of thinking. Even when I am subbing, specials, planning time, & lunch time leave me with time--time that I am used to filling with running around the school to copy papers & prepping for the next class.
During my time I seem to be making a mental to-do list. I could try to make myself look like an awesome wife/person and say that to-do list included laundry, cleaning, baking, etc...but it doesn't. Instead it includes things that I would love to be doing with my time or just things I wish I could do. As of today, this is my list...(in no particular order)

- Learn to play guitar & piano
- Be a professional photographer...or at least be able to take pictures for people and use my hobby as even a once and awhile job
- Be a graphic designer
- Create art (good art) from paint, pen, pencil, oil pastels
- Cook awesome meals (w/o recipes..just know what to put together) & bake delicious deserts
- Write a children's or young adult book
- Read lots of books
- Start a family
- Decorate my own house

What's in a Name?
Creating and writing my own blog is something I've wanted to do for awhile. Well at least it's on the list of things that I would really like to do...a list that is growing. So instead of adding to the list and doing nothing in response, I thought I would give it a try.
As always, it's the initial set up of something like this...or a fantasy football team that always makes me rethink what I'm doing. The coming up with a name. A name in itself isn't exactly the hard part, it's the fact that I know it is permanent, long-lasting, not meant to be changed frequently...which if it were up to me, I would change it often--too often. So there I was stuck at the title. Everything I thought of seemed great in my head, but as soon as I typed it..I hated it. The ones that seemed to make it past the typing stage got shot down by the availability factor. So Doodles and Dots...I don't know where it came from exactly except that I seem to lean towards word that start with the same letter & are easy and smooth to say or that rhyme. I think that is from teaching kindergarten for a year and doing lots and lots of rhyming.
So here I am, beginning my blog. We shall see where it takes me. I'm already mentally starting on my next post. :)
